Gong is a revenue intelligence platform that captures and analyzes customer conversations. Kasava’s Gong integration enables AI-powered analysis of sales calls, bringing customer insights directly into your product planning workflow.

Connecting Gong

Navigate to Settings

Go to Settings in the sidebar, then select IntegrationsSettings navigation with Integrations highlighted

Find Gong

In the Sales Intelligence section, locate the Gong integration cardGong integration card in Sales Intelligence section

Start Connection

Click the Gong card to open the connection page, then click Connect GongGong integration page with Connect button

Authorize Access

You’ll be redirected to Gong to authorize Kasava. Review the permissions and click AuthorizeGong OAuth authorization screen

Complete Setup

After authorization, you’ll be redirected back to Kasava. The integration status will show as connectedConnected status with green checkmark
Kasava uses secure OAuth 2.0 authentication. Your Gong credentials are never stored—only an access token for API calls.

Configuring Sync Settings

After connecting, you can configure how Kasava syncs your Gong data.

Managing Your Integration

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click Manage on the connected Gong card
  3. The management dialog opens with sync options

Sync Options

Manual Sync

Click Sync Now in the management dialog to trigger an immediate sync. This is useful when you need the latest data right away.
Gong data syncs automatically every hour via webhooks. Manual sync forces an immediate update.

Dashboard Sales Insights

Once connected, Gong insights appear on your dashboard in the Sales Insights card.

Priority Levels

Insights are ranked by priority:
  • High - Requires immediate attention (red badge)
  • Medium - Should be addressed soon (yellow badge)
  • Low - Informational (gray badge)

Expanding the Card

Click the expand icon on the Sales Insights card to see all insights with additional details including:
  • Total number of insights
  • Source call information
  • Insight type badges
  • Creation timestamps

Using Gong in AI Chat

Once connected, you can query your Gong data using natural language in Kasava’s AI chat.

Embedding Gong Calls in Plans

You can embed Gong calls directly into your Plans to reference customer conversations in planning documents.

Inserting a Gong Call

  1. Open a Plan in the editor
  2. Type /gong or click the + button and select Gong Call
  3. Search for calls by title
  4. Filter by call type (Inbound, Outbound, Conference)
  5. Click to insert the call block

Gong Call Block

The embedded call displays live data from Gong:
  • Direction icon - Inbound (green), Outbound (blue), or Conference (purple)
  • Title - The call title
  • Scope badge - External or Internal call
  • Duration - Call length in minutes/hours
  • Participants - Number of people on the call
  • Transcript indicator - Shows if transcript is available
  • Date - When the call occurred
  • Link - Click to open in Gong

Token Management

Refreshing Tokens

If you experience connection issues:
  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click Manage on the Gong card
  3. Click Refresh Token
This regenerates your access token without requiring full re-authorization.

Disconnecting Gong

To disconnect your Gong integration:
  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click Manage on the Gong card
  3. Click Disconnect
  4. Confirm the disconnection
Your synced data will remain in Kasava, but new data will stop syncing.
Disconnecting will stop all call tracking, insight generation, and analytics for your organization.

Troubleshooting

Verify that Gong is connected by checking Settings → Integrations. If connected, try clicking Sync Now in the management dialog to trigger a manual sync. Insights require transcript sync to be enabled.
Ensure you have admin permissions in your Gong workspace. If you’re not a Gong admin, contact your Gong administrator to authorize the connection.
Make sure your Gong connection is active and data has been synced. Check the Last Sync time in the management dialog. If sync hasn’t run, click Sync Now.
Transcript availability depends on your Gong recording settings and the Sync Transcripts option being enabled. Check both your Gong workspace settings and Kasava sync configuration.
Verify that Gong is connected and has synced data. The call selector only shows calls that have been synced to Kasava. Try triggering a manual sync if calls are missing.
If token refresh fails, try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration. This will initiate a fresh OAuth flow and generate new credentials.

Permissions

Kasava requests the following Gong permissions during OAuth:

Kasava does not modify any data in Gong. The integration is read-only.

Security

  • All OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest
  • Tokens are never exposed in the UI or logs
  • You can revoke access anytime from Gong’s integrations settings
  • Data sync can be paused by disconnecting without data loss
