Sprint Predictions

Kasava uses AI to help predict sprint outcomes:

How It Works

  1. Historical Analysis: Reviews past sprint performance
  2. Team Capacity: Considers team availability
  3. Complexity Scoring: Factors in work complexity
  4. Prediction Generation: Produces probability estimates

Using Predictions

  • View predictions on the Analytics Dashboard
  • Use insights for sprint planning meetings
  • Adjust capacity based on recommendations
Sprint predictions improve over time as more historical data becomes available. Teams that have completed multiple sprints will see more accurate predictions.

Best Practices

Getting Started

  1. Set Up Teams: Ensure your teams are configured in organization settings
  2. Connect Repositories: Link your GitHub repositories for commit data
  3. Configure Metrics: Choose the metrics most relevant to your workflow
  4. Review Regularly: Check analytics weekly to track trends

Interpreting Metrics

  • Trends Matter More Than Absolutes: Focus on improvements over time
  • Context Is Important: Consider external factors when reviewing metrics
  • Use for Planning: Apply insights to future sprint planning
  • Share with Teams: Discuss metrics openly to drive improvement

Limitations

Current analytics capabilities:
  • Historical data requires initial repository sync
  • Sprint predictions need sufficient historical data
  • Some metrics are calculated estimates
  • Real-time updates may have brief delays
